Same Day Different City takes us on a journey through the urban environment, providing us with a multitude of experiences and reactions that one might encounter while exploring the streets of any given city. Our energy and mood can change in a moment as we turn a corner, cross a street or interact with a stranger, allowing our own perception of our surroundings to define the experience. Memory, instinct, impression and impulse drive the scenes within the work as the viewer composes the relationships between the people and places within the landscape. Bruce’s expressive and bold paintings bridge the gap between abstraction, expressionism, impressionism and figurative illustration. Bruce received his MFA from Pratt Institute in 2010 and has served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Rowayton Arts Center
The exhibition runs through March 15th at the University of Connecticut-Stamford Art Gallery in the main university building at One University Place, Stamford CT. The Opening reception is Saturday, February 10th from 2-4:30 within the gallery.
